Confidence
Since the aligners are transparent and less noticeable, individuals often feel less self-conscious about their appearance compared to those with traditional braces.

Frequently Asked
Questions

What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment, which can correct alignment problems using a series of almost invisible custom plastic aligners. These aligners are removable and will shift your teeth into position without uncomfortable or undesirable brackets and wires.
What are the clear aligners made of?
Invisalign aligners are made of a flexible plastic material, which is MHRA/FDA-approved and doesn't contain any BPA, BPS, latex, or gluten.
What are the benefits of using Invisalign?
Invisalign aligners are made of clear plastic, which makes it almost impossible to tell that you are wearing them. This is a huge plus for many people, who want to avoid the negative image that traditional braces can give. The aligners are also removable, which can help with eating food, brushing, and flossing. You may also avoid potential emergency dentist visits when using Invisalign, as there aren't any brackets and wires to cause problems.
What orthodontic problems can Invisalign treat?
Invisalign is an orthodontic system that can treat a wide range of problems with alignment and bite. This includes overbites, underbites, crossbites, and overcrowding.
Am I too old for orthodontic treatment?
Age is not a limiting factor when it comes to treatment. It is much easier to shape the teeth of a younger patient, but as long as the teeth and gums are healthy, we will be able to use Invisalign to correct your smile.
What to expect during treatment?
Treatment starts with a consultation with our specialist team at Edgbaston Smile, where we will create an in-depth treatment plan which will be suitable for your teeth and lifestyle. Using sophisticated technologies and software, we will map your smile and show you the steps necessary to give you your ideal smile.

Once you've discussed the plan in full and you've given your approval, we will create moulds of your teeth that will be used when producing your custom invisible aligners. Depending on your treatment plan, you will be wearing your aligners for 20-22 hours a day and changing to a new set after 1-2 weeks.

As you switch to each new set of aligners your teeth will gradually move into position, giving you a beautiful new smile. The length of treatment varies between patients and heavily depends on how often you wear your aligners. Invisalign commonly lasts between 12-18 months, but you'll likely start to see results in the first few weeks.
How much does Invisalign cost?
Our Invisalign Treatment cost starts from £3,300 for Invisalign Lite, and £4500 for Invisalign Comprehensive. You can find out more about our treatment plans here.
How can I deal with rough edges during my treatment?
A new set of aligners may have a rough edge from the manufacturing. While this doesn't happen frequently, it can end up being quite painful, leaving your gum sore from rubbing against the rough aligner.

We recommend using dental wax along the rough edge to cover it, which should provide immediate relief. If this doesn't solve the issue, you should get in contact with us so that we can advise something else.
I have pain on changeover of my aligners, how can I fix this?
Changing over to a new set of aligners can cause slight pain or discomfort. This is because the aligners will be applying gentle but constant force to your teeth to move them into position. Some people describe this feeling as "pressure", which means the aligners are working to improve your smile. If the discomfort persists for a long time or you experience more severe pain, please contact us as soon as you can.
Help! My dog has eaten my aligners, what should I do?
These things do happen & you should contact us immediately so we can adjust your treatment accordingly. This might include wearing an older set of aligners until a replacement arrives or starting your next set early. Together we will evaluate all the available options to find a solution for you.
