Dental implants, commonly referred to as screw-in teeth, are a solution for replacing missing teeth. They involve the insertion of a small titanium implant into the jawbone, which serves as a secure foundation for crowns, bridges, and dentures.
A dental implant is an artificial replacement for the root of a tooth using a titanium screw. This integrates with bone providing a solid foundation for a new tooth. Once the implant has fused with the jaw bone, a crown or denture can be fixed in place, functioning like a natural tooth.
Missing, chipped and loose teeth can cause issueswith self-consciousness and self-confidence, but they can also cause functional issues, making it difficult to eat or speak comfortably.
Ora Dental Dentists are highly experienced and skilled at providing the highest quality dental implants.
Your Dental Implants treatment plan will be tailored to your individual requirements and desires. Ora Dental are here to guide you at every step of the process.
At our clinic, we believe in transparency and value — that’s why our single dental implants are offered at a fixed, all-inclusive price of £1,999. There are no hidden fees, no scary extras, and no surprise costs. This price includes everything you need for a complete, high-quality single tooth replacement:
A premium branded titanium implant screw
The abutment (the connector between the implant and crown)
A custom-made final crown for a natural, lasting finish
The only time the cost may vary is if advanced treatment is required — such as a bone graft — to make implant placement possible. If that’s the case, we’ll always discuss it with you upfront, so you can make an informed decision with complete confidence.
A dental implant is an artificial replacement for a teeth that are missing because of gum disease, trauma or tooth decay. They can even replace teeth that have been missing since birth. A dental implant is comprised of a titanium screw which fixes to you jaw bone, replacing the root of your tooth. A crown is added to the implant, matching your other teeth. Multiple implants can provide support and stability for bridges and other dentures.
How long does treatment take?
During your consultation, your dentist will discuss multiple treatment options with you. You may be suitable for a Teeth in a Day treatment, which means your implant and crown can be placed into your mouth in the same procedure. However, you may need to have delayed loading, meaning the implant is left to heal for between 3 and 6 months. After healing the crown is then placed onto the healed dental implant.
Why replace missing teeth with a dental implant?
Traditionally, missing teeth would be treated with either bridges or dentures. Bridges, unless positioned between multiple implants, involve drilling into healthy teeth for stability. Dentures can be uncomfortable and cause difficult eating. Dental implants are much more securely fitted into your mouth, functioning in the same way as a natural tooth. This offers a stable, permanent and aesthetic solution which integrates with your existing teeth and maintains jaw and teeth health.
Are dental implants safe?
Implants are a safe and predictable way to replace missing teeth, as long as you see a qualified and experienced dentist for your treatment. Dental implants have been in use for more than 30 years. They are normally made from titanium, a material that is accepted by your body and serves as a strong foundation for replacement teeth. Your natural bone will fuse with the implant, locking it into place, giving replacement teeth the stability and strength to function like regular teeth.
What are the risks of dental implants?
Dental implant surgery, like any surgical procedure, carries potential health risks. However, these risks are uncommon and typically minor, with straightforward treatment options available. The potential risks include:
Infection at the site of the implant
Injury or harm to adjacent structures, such as blood vessels or other teeth
Nerve damage that may result in discomfort, numbness, or tingling sensations in your gums, natural teeth, lips, or chin
Sinus complications, in cases where upper jaw dental implants extend into a sinus cavity.
How long do dental implants last?
Generally, for any dental treatment there tends to be two elements which can affect the success or failure of the outcome. The skill of the dentist and surgeon and the materials that are being used. We are blessed to have built our practice around incredibly experienced and skilled dental clinicians who have all completed advanced studies to become experts in their fields. Alongside this we exclusively use premium branded materials in all our crowns and implants, enhancing the success rate and resulting in more natural-looking results.
How painful is getting a dental implant?
This treatment is performed either under local anaesthetic or sedation, so you will not feel any pain during or shortly after the procedure. You may feel some discomfort while the anaesthetic wears off, but this can be easily soothed with painkillers.
Are dental implants right for me?
Everyone is different and will have different dental needs. Your dentist will be able to provide a thorough assessment to determine the best treatment for you.
